Peter, Paul and Mary's Noel 'Paul' Stookey
It was none other than William Shakespeare himself who wrote, “What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet."
Noel Paul Stookey might not be a name you immediately recognize, but chances are you know him anyway. Maybe by a his stage name: Paul. And almost certainly by his music with the legendary folk trio Peter, Paul and Mary.
Noel Paul Stookey sat down with Boston Public Radio to play some music and talk about everything from the Greenwich Village coffeehouse scene of the 1960s, to Pete Seeger, to life in Maine.
