Is it Time for Women in Combat?
There are close to 300 thousand women actively serving in the military. Many of them are doing the same jobs as men. Many them are facing the same risks as men. And yet, they are excluded from combat.
Juliette Kayyem, national security and foreign policy columnist for the Boston Globe and a lecturer in Public Policy at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, and Viviana Cordoba, Program Coordinator for the Massachusetts Department of Veterans' Services Women Veterans Network, joined Callie Crossley on Boston Public Radio to explain why these combat exclusions are so significant.
Guests:
- Juliette Kayyem, national security and foreign policy columnist for the Boston Globe and a lecturer in public policy at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government
- Viviana Cordoba, Program Coordinator for the Massachusetts Department of Veterans' Services Women Veterans Network
