A local mainstay is about to be shuttered after 50 years in business.

Building #19 is the place to go if you’re in the market for a defective prison jumpsuit or mismatched dish ware. But now, the store that boasts selling “good stuff cheap” is going under, partly because it couldn't keep up with the changing face of retail, which has become large, national, and online.

WGBH News reporter Gail Huff, who has decorated her home with several items from the store, and Michael Davies, who specializes in digital business decisions, joined Greater Boston to talk about why Building #19 is going under.
