The Central Intelligence Agency is supposed to be synonymous with secrecy. But that shroud was shed in 2003, when CIA operative Valerie Plame’s cover was blown in a newspaper column.

Plame went from secret agent to household name. The fallout was swift and severe. Investigations were launched, a journalist was jailed, and Plame’s CIA career was over.

In the decade since then, she’s has published two books.  The first, a memoir. And this month, she’s out with a novel titled Blowback, a spy thriller about, what else, a female CIA operative.
