Experience Innovation Hub Live! Sept. 27, 2012
Kara Miller, host of Innovation Hub, will be moderating a panel titled "The New Economy: How Automation Is Changing the Game" on Sept. 27 at Suffolk University's Modern Theatre.
Come join us for this special event. Tickets are available through the Modern Theatre's website.
The panel will look at how the business and employment landscape has been — and will be — altered by increasing automation and better computers.
Already, we've seen checkout jobs replaced in places like CVS and Walgreens. But we're also starting to see higher-level jobs displaced, like legal researchers and some Wall Street number-crunchers. So where are robots and automation taking us? Are they fundamentally changing our economy? And where will the jobs of the future really be?
This event is co-sponsored by Suffolk University's Sawyer Business School.
Panelists:
- Willy Shih, professor, Harvard Business School
- Daniel Theobald, CTO, Vecna Technologies
- Andrew McAfee, co-author, "Race Against the Machine"; MIT Sloan School of Management
- Rodney Brooks, founder, Rethink Robotics; professor emeritus, MIT (Dr. Brooks' new robot was recently featured in The New York Times)
