City Hall Plaza Underwater? Storm Fears Fuel BHA Report

It could happen here. That’s the gist of a new report from the Boston Harbor Association, which says Boston dodged a bullet during Superstorm Sandy, and might not be as lucky next time. The BHA warns that another mega-storm could send flood waters up to City Hall – and that as climate change intensifies, the risks will, too.

New York and New Jersey are still recovering from the ravages of Superstorm Sandy. Here in Massachusetts, Sandy’s impact was minimal – but only because we got lucky.

Vivien Li of the Boston Harbor Association says that if Sandy had hit a few hours later, nearly seven percent of Boston would have been flooded.
