Brown vs. Warren Senate Debate Cancelled

Updated Oct. 30, 7:45 p.m.

The fourth debate between Senator Scott Brown and Elizabeth Warren will not be rescheduled. The debate, originally scheduled to be broadcast live from WGBH on Oct. 30, was postponed because of Hurricane Sandy. The campaigns could not agree on a new date.

On Tuesday, the Boston Media Consortium, sponsors of the debate, worked with both campaigns to reschedule the match, and offered multiple alternative options.  “This is very disappointing for all the citizens who will not have an opportunity to hear directly from the candidates a week before this important election,” said WGBH executive producer Linda Polach, who has been coordinating the effort for the consortium.   The consortium comprises The Boston Globe, Bloomberg Radio, New England Cable News, WBUR Radio, WCVB-TV, WGBH-TV, WGBH Radio, and WHDH-TV. The debate was to be moderated by John King of CNN.
