Boston Sports Roundup

If you are a sports fan, even a casual one, this is your time of year.

The Red Sox have reportedly agreed in principle to a three-year deal with the free agent First Baseman/Catcher Mike Napoli. The contract is reportedly worth $39.

The NFL is heading into the final few weeks of the regular season (with all the intrigue that comes with it), college football is wrapping up (with bowl season right around the corner). And speaking of bowls, Super Bowl Saturday took place over the weekend at Gillette. And that’s just football.

The Celtics 2012-13 campaign is underway. NHL players and owners are still trying to salvage their season. And, even in the dead of winter, we can’t forget about baseball, with the Red Sox signing a brand new first baseman/catcher.

Boston Globe sports editor Joe Sullivan stopped by the BPR studios to walk us through a very busy weekend in sports.
