Now that summer is in full swing there's an embarrassment of great live music in New England. For Boston Public Radio's summer concert roundup, three dyed-in-the-wool music aficionados offered their picks for the best live events. Here are shows recommended by WGBH's Edgar B. Herwick IIIWCRB's Brian McCreath and Rob Hochschild from the Berklee College of Music.

In honor of Independence Day Herwick, McCreath and Hochschild also picked the tune they most identify with America. Herwick picked Simon and Garfunkel's "America," Hochschild picked Charles Mingus' "Better Git It In Your Soul," and McCreath chose "Chester" by William Billings.
