Author Joyce Maynard joined Jim Braude and Margery Eagan on Boston Public Radio to talk about her 2009 book, "Labor Day." The book has been turned into a film starring Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin. The film comes out January 31st.

In the climactic scene of "Labor Day," characters Adele and Frank share an intimate moment together constructing a  peach pie. Pie-making has been a recurring theme in Maynard's work and her personal life. Maynard donned an apron and jumped into the WGBH kitchen to show how a good pie is made.
