'The Armstrong Lie' Reveals The Depth Of His Deception
Lance Armstrong was once one of the Gods of cycling- overcoming cancer, winning seven consecutive Tour de France championships and establishing a monster charity effort in the process. But it all evaporated when he admitted to using performance enhancing drugs earlier this year.
That story is told in the new documentary, The Armstrong Lie, which opens in theaters Friday. What was intended to be a tale of triumph, became the drama of a doping downfall. Oscar-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney cycles through Armstrong's rise and fall. WGBH arts editor Jared Bowen previewed the film.
